Bob Denaro is a private consultant in ITS and on the Board of Advisors of Motus Ventures in Silicon Valley. His current activities include vehicle automation and communications, GPS enhancement, vehicle electronic horizon, digital mapping and mobile IoT. He was formerly Vice President of Nokia HERE/Navteq responsible for map-enhanced ADAS and before that Vice President of Motorola developing the first telematics systems like Onstar. Earlier Bob spent 15 years in Silicon Valley involved in GPS at several companies including his own startup. He began his career as an officer in the US Air Force performing R&D in the GPS Joint Program Office and earlier developing the first aircraft automatic landing systems.
Bob is currently chair of the US Transportation Research Board Joint Subcommittee on Challenges and Opportunities for Vehicle Automation and he is a member of the US Department of Transportation ITS Program Federal Advisory Committee.
Bob has an MSEE from the US Air Force Institute of Technology, an MS in Systems Management from the University of Southern California, and a BS in Astronautics from the US Air Force Academy.
